#JagrWatch Ends, former Pens great signs with Flames

All smiles from 68...he is back for another year..but not in Pittsburgh
With just days before the start of the 2017-2018 NHL regular season, and the Penguins still on the search for a reliable third line center, all eyes were on former Penguin, Jaromir Jagr. Hope abounded throughout the Penguins fan base that General Manager, Jim Rutherford, would finally pull the trigger to bring number 68 home once again.

I hate to be "that guy" but Jagr is officially not coming to Pittsburgh.

Per NHL correspondent Elliote Friedman, the Calgary Flames announced in the late morning hours of October 2nd that they had struck a deal with the 45 year old veteran in the terms of a one year contract worth $1 million dollars plus $1 million in bonuses.

Last season, Jagr tallied 16 goals and 46 points while a member of the Florida Panthers. He is currently 56 games away from passing the all time record for games played (Howe, 1,767) and sits second behind Wayne Gretzky for most points all-time in NHL history with 1,914.

The Penguins will play in Calgary on November 2nd. They will them face off again at PPG Paints Arena on March 5th, 2018.

While the Penguins faithful hoped and prayed that Jagr would once again call Pittsburgh home, it is good to at least have his greatness (both in hockey and in hair) remaining in the league. Congrats to you sir...and to your cat.
