TRP: Dirty Doan and the Blood of Referees by @LCJS

This is Three Rivers Philosophizer - A weekly review of stuff that is going on in my brain... at least the stuff that has to do with hockey. If you don't like it, I don't blame you.

Coyotes @ Penguins

During the 1st period, Blake Comeau was ejected for boarding.  The Pens were able to kill off the 5 minute major.

Later, Shane Doan hit Letang into the boards, knocking him senseless while no penalty was called.

Sorry, but it was a dirty hit. No doubt about it.

I guess it holds true that...

Sharks @ Penguins

The referee who was injured in the game the night before was forced to leave this game as well.

Hornqvist made it 1-0 Pens early and then Kunitz got off the schneid to made it 2-0 before the 1st was half over.

During the 2nd period, the Sharks came roaring back to tied the game at 2.

The CEC is dangerous, even for announcers:
During overtime, Hornqvist went to the box on a double minor for high sticking, but the PK stood tall and forced a shootout.

Flyers @ Penguins

No Malkin for this game, and still only 5 defensemen.

Early in the game, Crosby potted the first goal of the game and his 300th of his career.

In the 2nd, the Flyers made the score 2-1. Consol Energy Center began to fight back.
The rest of the game was not happy.
