Pens Re-Sign Marc-Andre Fleury to a 4-year Deal

Well, it is official. The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed Marc-Andre Fleury to a four-year deal worth $23 million. That is a cap hit of $5.75 million-per-year, which is a pay raise for Fleury.

Two big factors as to why the Pens would want to re-sign Fleury as soon as possible:

1. The Penguins do not have any prospects that will be NHL starting quality in the next two seasons.

2. The Free-Agent goalie market is really weak next year.

What a week for Fleury, who just had three shutouts in his last four starts.
