NHL Trade Deadline Update; Ryan Kesler News Update

It's the most wonderful time of the year....Depending on what NHLfranchised you're a fan of. Even though the NHL trade deadline isn't until 3pm tomorrow, it has already been a pretty hectic day in the NHL.

Here's a breakdown of all of the trades that have taken place already:

The Florida Panthers acquired goaltender Roberto Luongo & Steven Anthony from Vancouver in exchange for Shawn Matthias & Jacob Markstrom

The New York Islanders traded defenseman Andy MacDonald to the Philadelphia Flyers for a 2014 3rd round and 2015 2nd round pick.

The Flyers were bound to do something stupid.

The Anaheim Mighty Ducks traded forward Dustin Penner to the Washington Capitals for a 4th round pick.  Penner then gave the public some hilarious tweets.

Edmonton Oilers traded Ilya Bryzgalov to the Minnesota Wild for a 2014 fourth-round pick.

As for your Pittsburgh Penguins, well nothing but rumors right now. According to ESPN's Pierrre LeBrun, they are interested in Oilers' winger Ales Hemsky, who would be a cheap pickup.

For some reason, Glen Sather and the New York Rangers traded Ryan Callahan and multiple draft picks, including a first-rounder to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Martin St. Louis.

Also, it looks as if Marian Gaborik could be heading to the Los Angeles Kings, although just rumors as of right now.

On top of that, apparently Anaheim is swooping in on Ryan Kesler, which has made everything really interesting. The Ducks have a lot more assets to work with than the Pens. Could cause general manager Ray Shero to offer more for Kesler.

Josh Rimer also reported that the Pens are interested in defenseman Alexander Edler as well.
